The Black Harvest Gathering: Montgomery

June 7 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC-5

The Black Harvest Gathering is designed to assess the gaps in support and resources necessary for Black producers to thrive. As an in-person continuation of the once virtual Black Harvest Series, this event represents an ongoing storytelling project that captures the lived experiences of Black producers and the individuals and institutions serving them. Our overall goal is to document and disseminate ongoing efforts to support Black producers in the South to help communities better understand their wants, needs, assets, and points of collaboration.

We are inviting southern Black producers to share your successes and challenges while you engage with other Black producers from across the region. To assist with travel, a $100 gift card will be issued per registered producer / producer family. In addition to active discussion, the event offers free food, music, and games. Door prizes will also be awarded.

The Black Harvest Gathering will be moderated and hosted by members of the Carver Integrative Sustainability Center (CISC) and is sponsored by Tuskegee University’s College of Agriculture Environment and Nutrition Sciences.
