The Fairy and Lumberjack

June 10 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-5

The Fairy and the Lumberjack – A play with music and dance. A very popular folktale. Almost all the children in Korea grow up reading it!

The Fairy and the Woodcutter is one of the most popular of all Korean folktales. Almost all children in Korea grow up reading a version of this love story. Korean traditional dance, choreographed by a native Korean dancer and Alabama screenwriter and director, Angela Dickson has woven cultures together to produce a tragic love story about a lonely lumberjack who married a fairy.

A-KEEP is a non-profit that serves as a bridge for unity between the Alabama and Korean cultures and languages. We provide education programs, community enrichment, and multicultural experiences. Every year, we host a community theater performance with an award from the Challenge America grant program that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the Alabama Council of the Arts (ASCA) to learn about other cultures using visual and performing arts for residents in Montgomery County and other communities in Alabama.
